45 Years - Mazal Tov

Dina and I are celebrating our 45th Wedding Anniversary today - April 6, 2021.

For all you men, young and old alike: I have learned the secret of a successful marriage. Find a woman who is centered on HaShem, very patient and tolerant of you. The love part grows over the years do mostly to the man's awe of her willingness to be with him despite his flaws. Much like our appreciation and gratitude toward HaShem due to his love, patience and tolerance for us all. There will be some who will see Proverbs 31 as sexist from our warped, slanted, "modern" and wayward ways of thinking in the 21st Century - however, in it is pure wisdom and humility: A woman of valour who can find? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts in her, And he has no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, And works willingly with her hands. She is like the merchant-ships; She brings her food from afar. She rises while it is yet night, And gives food to her household, And a portion to those who look to her for help. She considers a field, and buys it; With the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. She lifts her loins with strength, And makes strong her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good; Her lamp does not out by night. She lays her hands to the distaff, And her hands hold the spindle. She stretches out her hand to the poor; Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household; For all her household are clothed in warmth. She makes for herself coverlets; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them; And delivers girdles to the merchant. Strength and dignity are her clothing; And she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom; And the law of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household, And eats not the bread of idleness. Her children rise up, and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: Many daughters have done valiantly, But you (my beloved) excel them all. Grace is deceitful, and beauty is vain; But a woman that fears Adonai, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; And let her works praise her in the gates.
